Snow is back. We got a heavy wet snow of about 7 inches that kept me at home on Friday. We had someone plow our lane on Saturday so that we could get out on Monday.
There was a bit of ice with the snow that gave a glaze to the grape trellis.
The tractor sits idle covered with snow.
These big flocks of snow geese were flying overhead as I walked around in the snow. They had been flying over for the past few weeks, landing in fields just west of us to rest in the late afternoon.
I need a place to unwind after hours of work at a desk. That place is on my nearly 80 acre homestead, where I particularly enjoy spending time outside in my garden/orchard/vineyard and watching the wildlife that share this sanctuary with me. I want to maintain this to keep a record of what I see and create.

From February 17, 2013
I first noticed daffodils coming up with buds showing.
The earlier snow has melted and the garden sleeps. Last year's tomato patch is in front with stakes still in the ground, and behind is the remains of the sweet corn.
My 90 grape vines are still young and only just starting to climb the wire trellis. Hard to see in their dormant state.
